-Working Girl's Guitar- |
By Bob Silvestri
bobsilvestri@bestofwny.com From her early days with the Screamin' Sirens and through her illustrious solo career I don't think Rosie Flores has ever released a bad album and her latest Working Girl's Guitar is no different. The title refers to her beloved guitar a James Trussart Deluxe Steel Topcaster that appears on the cover of the disc. The guitar and its rich signature tone are hallmarks of Flores guitar playing. Lots of good stuff on this one including the rocking boast of the title cut "Working Girl's Guitar" and "Little But I'm Loud" and the surf rock vibe of "Surf Demon #5". She tackles a couple of choice covers including Elvis' "Too Much", Janice Martin's "Drugstore Rock and Roll" and George Harrison's "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". The record is dedicated to the memory of David Lindley and Duane Jarvis as is the track "Yeah Yeah". This girl slays them here. Check it out at www.rosieflores.com |
