When
you are done reading this review go out and buy the new release from local
artists The Thermidors titled Sebring Sessions. What the heck have a party
and book these guys to play. Mixing British Invasion style with a 2K6 swagger
they recently blew ex- Beatle Pete Best and his band out of the water while
opening Best’s most recent show at Club Infinity. The band (Nick Mirco
-guitar/vocals, Brian Hyrek -guitar/vocals, Jeremy Stock -bass/vocals and
Brendon Stock -drums) have a firm grasp on writing good songs something
sorely lacking in today’s music. Hook filled and expertly produced
by the band along with Sean Martin they posses a clear vision for such
a bunch of young guys. Kicking off with “Lie To Me, Cry To Me” you know
you are in for a treat with its groovy bass line and clear crisp guitar
chords all culminating in a dreamy chorus. A musical delight! “At The Bottom
Of The Lake” features an almost country twang and is one of many highlights
here. “Ballad in G” is a dreamy number while “I Don’t Mind”, “Love You
Wrong” and “Where She’s Gone” will get all the mop top hipsters on the
dance floor. Kicks ass is the best way to describe “Love Gypsy” a snarky
Smithereens style reverb and echo drenched number. The disc closes with
an acoustic demo version of “lie To Me, Cry To Me”. These guys are on the
right path with an instant classic. For more on The Thermidors and their
