As the punk rock scene exploded in the 70’s, The Slits, along with artists like The Clash and The Sex Pistols helped to define its sound. Oddly The Slits, one of the first all female punk bands, moved on to relative obscurity while others in the punk movement went on to fame. The innovative group was ahead of their time in their use of World beats and dub reggae.
