Old school soul, rhythm and blues and funk is the blueprint followed by the ever evolving local group The Exoutics and their new compilation release titled Anything You Want. Steeped in the tradition of Harold Melvin and The Bluenotes, The Stylistics and Earth, Wind and Fire the disc harks to the days when people actually played instruments and vocalists didn't feel the need to elongate every vowel they sing. Although The Exoutics have had a revolving cast of musicians over the years the one constant has been the music. Highlights here include "Here We Go Again" a regional hit a few years back for the band, the slow sensual groove of "Let's Make Love", "Over Again" and the sweet sax sound of "I'll Be Around".
