bobsilvestri@bestofwny.com Sometimes all the pieces come together to mesh as one and form something spectacular. Such is the case with the new release from The Corrections titled The Man They Could Have Saved. Great songs and stellar musicianship from the band (Guillermo Izquierdo/guitar and vocals, Tim Mroz/bass, Rob Pacillo/keyboards, Mark Ricci/guitars and Erik Hallmark/drums makes this three song EP stand out far and above most of the current offerings. Soulful with a keen sense of pop melody, “Should’ve Never Let This Happen” leads off the disc. “The Best Girlfriend You Never Had” a rousing pop rocker with country undertones features the always reliable Joelle Labert (Flatbed) on harmony vocals with Izquierdo. Mroz’s bass playing also shines on “…Girlfriend”. The title track “The Man They Could Have Saved” is a Bowie-esque ballad that builds in tempo and intensity to a grand conclusion behind Izquierdo’s soaring falsetto vocals.
