“Buffalo, NY” |
By Bob Silvestri
bobsilvestri@bestofwny.com After sitting on the studio shelf for approximately three years, The Steam Donkeys have finally released a new CD titled “Buffalo, NY”. Unless you’ve been lucky to find some of those live tapes circulating around town, it’s great to finally have all these longtime staples of their live set finally on disc. “You’re Gonna Hurt”, “Ain’t That The Way”, “Can’t Stay Here With Me”, “Believe You Me” and “Twelve Steppin’” all sound great in these studio versions. All eleven tracks feature Buck Quigley’s plaintive tenor clear and strong and Charlie Quill’s meaty twangy guitar mixed upfront. Credit to the esteemed Marc Hunt for getting the sound perfect. Always proud of their hometown, hence the title, the Steam Donkeys have a disc to be proud of also. For more on the band go to www.steamdonkeys.com |
