Rockin'
The Rockpile by Jeffery L. Miller is a must have book for any Buffalo Bills
fan. This comprehensive book chronicles the Bills during their playing
days in the American Football League in the dubiously beloved War Memorial
Stadium fondly called The Rockpile. Miller a Springville, NY resident and
lifelong Bills fan covers the team from their birth through their 1969
season in the Rockpile. The book includes a foreword by Bills Hall of Fame
guard Billy Shaw, a year by year breakdown of the seasons, stories about
the 1964 and 1965 AFL Championship seasons, background stories about the
players, a "Where Are They Now" section and dozens of black and white photos.
The book also lists all players and coaches, yearly stats, team records,
draft picks and standing from the AFL-era. The part that I found especially
appealing was the box scores of every game which allowed me to go back
and reminisce about some of the amazing players and games I saw as a young
boy with my Dad at the Rockpile. This was truly a fascinating time in Buffalo
Bills history all brought together in one book. Rockin' the Rockpile by
Jeffery L. Miller is available at local bookstores or by going to www.ecwpress.com
