CD Review - By Bob Silvestri

Some
people were just meant to sing together. Laurie MacAllister, Abbie Gardner
and Carolann Solobello who make up the band Red Molly are three of those
people. On their first full length release titled Love and Other Tragedies
the members of Red Molly blend a mix of banjos, folk guitar, mandolins
and amazing crystalline three part harmonies for stunning results. Outstanding
cuts include "The Mind of a Soldier", the Gillian Welch written
"Wichita", the gospel flavored "Keep Your Lamp Trimmed
and Burning", and "Make Me Lonely Again". The back porch
style jam "Summertime" and the a cappella "May I Suggest"
resonate as well. For more on Red Molly and their new disc Love and
Other Tragedies check out www.redmolly.com
