On
his latest disc titled, Big Man Big Guitar, blues guitarist Popa Chubby
offers a mix of originals and choice covers in his unique style. Loud and
brash the disc was recorded over various dates in France. Cover version
include Jimi Hendrix’s “Hey Joe”, Willie Dixon’s “Backdoor Man”, Neil Young’s
“Motorcycle Mama”, Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” and the Carter Family’s
“Keep On The Sunny Side”. Standout originals include “If The Diesel Don’t
Get You Then The Jet Fuel Will”, “Sweet Goddess Of Love And Beer” and “How’d
A White Boy Get The Blues”. A frequent visitor to Western New York (he
played a blistering set at last year’s WNED Guitar Festival) he is a must
see live act as this souvenir will attest. Check out www.popachubby.com
