Local artists Original Skin have released a temptingly pleasing EP as a precursor to the full length CD they are presently working on. The band, Eric Seymour (lead guitar), Brian Burd (bass), Chris Mattioli (drums) and Guillermo Izquierdo (vocals, guitar) have an edgy adult alternative sound with smart pop sensibilities. Izquierdo, most recently featured on the Contortionists “Get Sweet For You” CD, handles the vocals and rhythm guitar here. A departure from his blistering guitar work on “Sweet”, he shows a more restrained side here instead he lets Seymour shine on lead guitar.
     All three tracks show the band is aiming for radio and beyond with a clean though not over produced sound. My favorite track was “Off the Face of the Earth” with it’s ready to be a hit sound but the other tracks, “Without A Release” and “Think This One Through”, carry the same intensity.
