Coming straight out of Clarksdale, Mississippi is Olga Wilhelmine and her latest release Now Is The Time. Featuring a mix of traditional Delta Blues tunes and her own original compositions she stays true to the masters of the genre with slide guitars, washtub bass and Dobro in the mix. Highlights here include “”Your Love Don’t Work Like Mine”, the title track “Now Is The Time” and “Can You Forgive Me”. Olga’s version of the Memphis Minnie tune “What’s The Matter with the Mill” also deserves mention. Props to Jimbo Mathus (ex-Squirrel Nut Zippers) who adds tasty lead guitar throughout the CD.
