“Polar” - CD Review - |
By Bob Silvestri
bobsilvestri@bestofwny.com With the influx of male singer songwriters on the music scene, WNY native Joe Mulhollen has released a CD titled “Polar”. With a conversational singing style and an affinity for melody over noise the disc sounds like a private parlor performance. However sometimes this allows Mulhollen some self-indulgent passages in the music perhaps more cathartic than made for the listener. “File Under P. E.” with its new wave alternative sound is an outstanding track. “Then There Was Calm’, with a hint of vibrato in Mulhollen’s voice, is another good track. Other tracks of note include “Your Mother Once Told Me”, “Hot In My Head”, “Pseudo” and “On Display”. For more on Joe Mulhollen and his music visit www.josephmulhollen.com |
