Here is a young band that realizes the value and importance of writing a good song filled with hooks, meaningful lyrics and memorable melodies. Mayday whose members are Loren Kelley (Guitar) Michael Wolcott (Vocals, Guitar) Mike Wach (Bass) Brian Theobalds (Drums) fuse elements of pop, blues, a touch of metal and alternative, a little British Invasion along with some swagger for pleasant results. "Quicksand" starts the seven song disc with a nice guitar intro, hook and catchy chorus; "Everything to Everyone" has a hard Nirvana guitar riff melded with the pop chops of the Goo Goo Dolls. The band shows their tender side with a couple of nice acoustic numbers "Captain" and "Square One". With a little more polish Mayday could be one of the better up and coming local bands on the scene.
