Los
Lobos has been making their own style of interesting and exciting music
without regards to commercial success to a large and devoted audience for
almost thirty years. Yes they have had limited commercial success as a
fluke but it almost seemed to steely the band and direct them to higher
musical heights. They approach their new CD The Town And The Country as
a thematically dark place, dark in contrast and with a changed lifestyle
from the culture they knew. Tales of desperation surface on the track “Hold
On” and “The Town”. “Chuco’s Cumbia” and “No Puedo Mas” highlight their
proud Latin traditions. The blues rock shuffle “Two Dogs And A Bone” and
cool sexy sound of “Free Up” stand out here also. Los Lobos have always
been musical innovators and continue with The Town And The City. For more
