Los Lobos has been making their own style of interesting and exciting music without regards to commercial success to a large and devoted audience for almost thirty years. Yes they have had limited commercial success as a fluke but it almost seemed to steely the band and direct them to higher musical heights. They approach their new CD The Town And The Country as a thematically dark place, dark in contrast and with a changed lifestyle from the culture they knew. Tales of desperation surface on the track “Hold On” and “The Town”. “Chuco’s Cumbia” and “No Puedo Mas” highlight their proud Latin traditions.
