Rochford wasn't really planning on releasing a CD. He had fallen in the
normal rut of making a living and raising a family. So his thirty year
old dream of releasing a disc went to the back burner. However when his
then teenage daughter's wanted to form a band he had them attend a songwriter
workshop with the one of Western New York's best, Alison Pipitone. Not
only did Pipitone mentor Rochford's daughters she encouraged him to perform
once again. The result his new CD titled Arrow. He surrounds himself with
some major league talent including Ray Hagen on drums, Graham Howes on
guitar, Rebecca Mercurio on bass, Susan Viscuso on keys and Natalie Howes
on backing vocals. Pipitone shows up to lend some acoustic guitar and handle
the production chores with Mike Rorick. The songs feature tight arrangements
and laconic instrumentation similar to Dylan, Petty or T-Bone Burnett.
Check out "Ball and Chain", the reverb drenched guitar sound on "Last Penny",
the title track "Arrow" and "Breakwall". Rochford and Viscuso make some
sweet harmonies on "Pity the Cold-Hearted Moon". Here's hoping Rochford
doesn't wait thirty more years to release another disc. For more information
