-Master of Disaster- |

bobsilvestri@bestofwny.com John Hiatt is one of music’s premier songwriters. Never mind that he doesn’t have the idolatry of the masses he possesses a rabid following and is respected by musicians of all genres. On his latest titled Master of Disaster he teams up with the North Mississippi All-Stars and producer Jim Dickinson for another stellar addition to his impressive output. The disc has a laid back feel with some down home picking and grinning, a little country twang and lots of sly clever lyrics. He really hits the mark on the tracks “Wintertime Blues” a tale about Punxsutawney Phil and the dregs of winter, the heart rendering “Love’s Not Where We Left It” and the ode to easy living “Back On The Corner”. Other tracks of note include the title cut, “Thunderbird” and “When My Love Crosses Over’. For more on John Hiatt and his latest Master of Disaster check out www.johnhiatt.com |
