Greg
Keelor has always been the edgier of Blue Rodeo’s principle songwriting
partners. His roots seem deep in 60’s psychedelic and British Invasion
bands. On his latest solo disc titled Aphrodite Rose he wears his influences
proudly on his sleeve. Keelor recorded most of the tracks at his farm in
Northern Ontario with help from Travis Good, Mike Belitsky, and Bob Packwood.
Sarah McLachlan adds her ethereal vocals to a couple of tracks also. Tracks
of note include the Who like anthem “No Man’s Land”, “Steal Your
Mind” with its Byrds influence, the bluesy rocker “Prisoner” and “”Glory
Oh”. Also check out “Colour and Rhyme”, “High Meadow” and “If You Go”.
