New
Jersey blues artist Gina Sicilia has a new disc out this one titled
Hey Sugar. A nominee for best new artist at the national 2008 Blues
Music Awards Sicilia delivers another great album here. Mature beyond
her twenty three years Sicilia inhabits the songs here with a style
similar to Lou Ann Barton and Angela Strehli. She knocks them out of
the park on the tracks "So Attracted to You" a funky blues
done New Orleans style, the smoky bar room piano blues of "I Pray
Most Everyday"; the country blues number "What the Moon Could
Never Do" and the standout "Bad Years Coming". Dave Gross
plays some sizzling guitar and produced the disc. On a sad note Continental
Flight 3407 passenger Gerry Neiwood appears here from one of his last
recording sessions and adds his incredible sax and clarinet playing
to many songs on the disc. For more on Gina Sicilia and her latest release
