bobsilvestri@bestofwny.com Fins, Chrome and The Open Road-A Tribute To The Cadillac celebrates the ultimate symbol of American success and excess with twenty one songs specifically for this project and all about the classic American car. Some of the artists who contribute songs to the disc include the late great blues master Little Milton, Kim Wilson, Charlie Musselwhite, Jimmy Hall, Rosie Flores, Maria Muldaur, Jim Lauderdale and Rory Block among others. Mr. Nick’s Blues Mafia run thru “Look At That Cadillac” while Rosie Flores offers up her take on Springsteen’s “Cadillac Ranch”. Bob Walsh turns “Brand New Cadillac” into a horn driven blues romp instead of the more familiar punk anthem by The Clash. Maria Muldaur shows her chops on a jazzy “Solid Gold Cadillac” and Little Milton blows thru “I Ain’t Got You”. Jim Lauderdale steals the show with “One Piece At A Time” about an auto factory worker who can’t afford to buy a Cadillac but figures he can build it by stealing one piece at a time only to find the various parts and model years don’t fit.
