Constantino’s musical status is legendary. He has been a pioneering force
on the local and national music scene for many years as a member of such
seminal bands as Talas, the Tweeds, Willie and The Reinhardts or Shyboy
to name a few. Costantino was also in the inaugural class for induction
to The Buffalo Music Hall of Fame. Yet after all these years he never found
the time to release a solo disc. Now the wait is over with his release
Bump In The Road. Ted and Tom Reinhardt supply the rhythm section here
on drums and bass respectively. The three have played extensively over
the years and have a complimentary style in their playing. This is bar
room blues rock at its most powerful. Eight of the nine tracks here were
written by Constantino with the lone exception being a blistering cover
of Jimi Hendrix’s “Manic Depression”. Highlights here are the title track
“Bump In The Road” a power rocker that best exemplifies the band, “Where
You Hidin’”, “Mystery Man” and “Gave You Back”. The slower paced acoustic
love song “Missing You” scores here as well. For more on Dave Constantino
