Dan Zanes continues his series of family friendly music with his latest release Catch That Train! a collection of eighteen songs that has already won a 2007 Grammy Award. Employing a slew of friends including regulars Father Goose AKA Rankin’ Don, Barbara Brousel and Donald Saaf, Zanes also brings guests Natalie Merchant, Nick Cave and The Kronos Quartet to the festivities. Highlights here include the island vibe of the title cut “Catch That Train!” the Cajun groove on “The Fine Friends Are Here” and Merchant’s duet with Zanes on “Loch Lomond”. Zanes channels his old band The Del Fuegos with spirited romps on “Walkin’ The Dog” and “Let’s Shake”.
