bobsilvestri@bestofwny.com A vibrant mix of musical palettes is the latest release from Dali's Ghost (Justin John Smith-guitar/vocals, Ian Belknap-drums, Tyler Skelton-guitar/vocals/trumpet and Ken Riley-bass. Mixing smart alternative sounds with a little Pink Floyd, some Doors and Eastern Mysticism they are definitely charting their own musical course. "It's Real" adds sitar for the mystical journey, "I'm Alive" has feelings of epic proportions, "Flowers Grow" has a foreboding quality and "The Void" offers a trippy vibe. They bust out the trumpets for a couple of tracks and make like Chicago on "No Gravity" and put their SKA groove to "Sharkhunter". For more on Dali's Ghost go to www.dalisghost.com |
