Carrie
Rodriguez's second CD titled She Ain't Me finds the eclectic singer
songwriter branching out on both her songwriting and musical chops.
She shares songwriting duties on a few tracks with Gary Louris from
the Jayhawks, Jim Boquist from Son Volt and Mary Gauthier among others.
More subdued than her first disc Rodriguez seems to have found a style
that suits her here as she matures as an artist. Tracks of note include
the Rodriguez/Louris penned "Infinite Night" and "El
Salvador" with Louris helping out on vocals, "Absence"
co written with Gauthier who also sings on the cut and "Mask of
Moses" which features Lucinda Williams on vocals. The title cut
"She Ain't Me" along with "Rag Doll" and "Can't
Cry Enough" shine here as well. Check out www.carrierodriguez.com
