CD Review - By Bob
Silvestri
bobsilvestri@bestofwny.com Hailing from the state of Washington way out in the Pacific Northwest are Becki Sue & Her Big Rockin' Daddies and their release Big City Blues. The twelve tracks are steeped in a love for traditional blues and feature some great fretwork from Tom Boyle and outstanding vocals from Becki Sue. Good stuff here includes a magnificent run thru the classic "Farmer John", covers of Albert Collins "Backstroke", Albert King's "I Get Evil" and Kim Wilson's "Tell Me Why". Best cuts on the disc are the sax driven "You're Killin' Me" and slow blues weeper "Maybe". For more info check out www.bigrockindaddies.com |
